I quit for about 3 months, and when I came back, I had the same amount of gold, the same number of cards. ![]() On the other hand, while Clash Royale requires grinding in order to progress (f2p obvi), I do not by any means need to grind every day. There is a degree of progression involved. ![]() You also criticized CR for its dependence on RNGesus, but isn't it absolutely random in CoC as to your matchups, the people you jack for cash? The point of CR is not solely to accumulate cards and sit on them on a pile, just as the point of CoC is not to max out your coffers and tap the BBK to make him "YAWP". To top it off, if you don't play for long enough, anything you don't spend will be completely plundered. However, the fact remains that you need to operate on a consistent, daily basis in order to succeed in CoC. I agree that the journey-centered, long-term, delayed gratification games are extremely enjoyable. Then they release the next expansion so it's another 6 months of f2p grinding. The value placed on the journey of going from Town Hall 1 to a maxed out 9 is great. ![]() I would argue that Royale is the same, maybe to a lesser extent, but still has that same quality.
